General Presentation Of The Guide

This Guide is the result of the research carried out by the project partners within Work Package 2 (WP2), under the direct coordination of Nachalno “Tsani Ginchev” Primary School (Bulgaria).

The division of tasks and responsibilities of the WP was:

1: under the lead of Nachalno Tsani Ginchen, all the partners executed a research phase (desk research) at the national and at the European level.

2: under the lead of Nachalno Tsani Ginchen, all the partners contributed to the development of the Guide. The structure and the work division among partners was discussed collectively and the final decision has been done by the task leader. The partners selected through a vote a set of practices found during the research phase and elaborated a guideline on how to proceed with their implementation in schools.

3: All partners submited the first draft of the Guide to a national expert in the field of green building practices. An evaluation grid has been provided to these experts for them to provide proper feedback on the quality of the material.

This Guide contain the following elements:

• What is a Green Building and why it is important to respond environmental issues, what are its positive impacts on the planet;

• How to turn a building into a green building, with examples of existing green building practices already in place;

• A step-by-step guideline to set up green building practices;

• A template Environmental Action Plan;

• Templates to be used to assess progress and results.

The structure of the Guide was discussed among the partners based on the research phase carried out by all partners.

The partners made a selection of the existing green building practices found and dedicated a module on how to implement them with a step-by-step guide.

The division of work was discussed and the WP Coordinator made the final decision. The WP Coordinator has gathered all the modules in one Guide. All partners sent the English version of the first draft of the Guide to a national expert. The experts completed the evaluation grid previously developed by the WP leader.
